Carol's Cottage Bench

I received an email from Carol who has kindly shared how she made a sweet little cottage style bench from old chairs and a garage sale headboard. Here's how she did it!

"I love to make things with stuff I have at home. I recently made a bench for my screen porch with two old chairs. I found 2 (50's) metal dining room chairs just rusting away in the back yard of my rent house. I took off the plastic seats and painted the chairs white. Then I cut a piece of plywood the width and length of the two chairs facing each other,then screwed the two pieces of 1" X 2" to the sides of the plywood length. Next I padded it with foam and batting and covered it with an old flowered sheet stapled to the underside of the 1" X 2" then screwed the seat to the two chairs. It was a perfect little bench. I then went to a garage sale and found a single wicker head board for $5 and it was a perfect fit for a back and I screwed it in. Everyone that comes wants one. It is easy to make...It would also be really cute to put in a cottage living room for extra seating."
