Peppermint Tea, Wax Cake, and a Primer Green Dining Room
Yum. While I can actually taste the hot peppermint tea, the sweet aroma is coming from a nearby candle that both looks and smells like a cake. That's pure genius, I tell you.
Our winter break wasn't totally lost on plumbing problems and illness. We *did* get quite a bit acomplished, which included getting the place whipped back into a pretty decent state for a house that's being remodeled. I have a few more toys and clothing items to sort, but all in all I'm quite pleased with my "mundane chore" accomplishments this week. Now we can continue on with our remodeling projects without tripping over everything that's been slowly piling up around us.
Another project behind us is the priming of the dining room and kitchen. The primer is about two or three shades darker than the color I've chosen, but it still looks pretty ok for primer! You can see more dining photos, including a closeup of the stencil work, in my new photo gallery.

Since I'm pretty much the Queen of Thrift, lol, I've also added another new section to the site called "Thrifty Finds/Cottage Treasures" (or just 'Thrifty Cottage Finds' for short...)This is just a gallery of treasures I find when I go out bargain hunting. I think it just helps to prove that you don't have to have a lot of money to decorate your space and that *new* and *expensive* isn't necessarily always better. The link to this gallery is in the right hand column as well.
Have a great day, everyone!
